A video installation based on the development of Skeppsholmskyrkan since 2000. This church, located at Skeppsholmen, Stockholm, was secularized. The tenants (Swedish Orthodox Parish) were thrown out for refusing to pay the rent, claiming that an old verbal contract would let them stay for free. A press release from SFV, the stateowned Real Estate company that owns the church, informs us that they won the legal dispute on this matter and the church users had to move out.
In the silent video a "burglar" is forcing open the door of the church. Going in, he puts a wineglass at the center of the church and hits it with a knife, like calling for attention at a dinner. When the knife hits the glass in the video, a mechanical sculpture in the exhibition room is activated, producing the sound of the glass hit by the knife.
